Steve has worked extensively in the mining and raw material processing industries, and as a consultant working with companies in developing business strategies over the past 20 years.
He has completed a diverse range of projects including market assessment, competitive analysis, customer optimization studies, the development of sales databases for use in business planning, and overhead cost reduction programs.
Industry experience includes roles at Essroc Materials where Steve responsible for managing the sales and marketing business plans, including its three-year strategic plans. Steve also initiated the use of various industrial waste products as raw materials in the cement process, and managed a nationwide materials sourcing program at Essroc. He previously worked for Kline & Company, and was involved in strategic, marketing, customer satisfaction, competitive cost economics, and diversification projects for global minerals and chemicals companies. Prior to joining Kline & Company, Steve worked as an Industry Economist with the Bureau of Land Management in Santa Fe, NM, and as a geologist for Newmont Mining, Tucson, AZ.
Steve has a MS in Mineral Economics from the University of Arizona and a BS in Geology-geochemistry from Pennsylvania State University. During graduate school, Steve was awarded the SME's Industrial Minerals Scholarship.
