2020 Existing Home Sales Reach Highest Level Since 2006

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) recently reported existing home sales in December 2020 reached their highest level since 2006. Total existing home sales rose to a seasonally-adjusted rate of 6.76 million in December 2020. According to the NAR, sales in total rose year-over-year, up 22.2% from a year ago (5.53 million in December 2019). Additionally, unsold housing inventory now sits at an all-time low of a 1.9-month supply, down from 2.3 months in November.
