Americans consume more than 7 billion hot dogs between Memorial and Labor Day weekends. Grilling is the most common cooking method for hot dogs during the warm weather months. Firing up the grill is a summertime ritual that goes well with spending quality down time on your deck.
Principia estimates that 56.7 million decks currently exist in the United States, including 1.4 million new decks alone built in 2020. If all hot dogs consumed on Memorial Day weekend were grilled on decks, it would be over 200 million hot dogs. Time to break out the tongs.
